6 held for stealing gold jewellery

Six people have been arrested for robbing gold jewellery in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The police received a tipoff from informants, and a team was put in place to catch the robbers. The suspects were caught with jewellery stolen in five cases worth Rs.1350 lakh. The suspects are all industrial workers who have been involved in robbing gold jewellery in Maharashtra and North Karnataka. The arrested suspects deceived women by posing as jewellery polishers.

Kolhapur: In a major breakthrough, the Kolhapur police have nabbed six people of a gang involved in several cases of robbing gold jewellery while posing as polishers.
The six arrested have been identified as Sachin Kumar Shah, Buva Raju Badai, Kundan Kumar Shah, Dhiraj Kumar Shah, Bhavesh Gupta and Aryan Gupta, said the police. The local crime branch received a tip-off from informers of their location, after which a team of police personnel was put in place.

The robbers were caught with jewellery robbed in five cases worth Rs13.50 lakh, police said.
Shailesh Balkawade, superintendent of police (SP), said, “All arrested are industrial workers. They are involved in robbing gold jewellery in Maharashtra and north Karnataka. The arrested deceived women by posing as jewellery polishers.”
