Woman, two kids injured as house roof collapses
Kottayam: A woman and her two children were injured after the roof of their house collapsed in the heavy rain and strong winds at Athirampuzha in the district in the wee hours of Friday.
Another son Alvi (12) and Binoy’s mother Aniyamma were in a different room and escaped without injury. The roof portion above the area connecting the hall and a room collapsed and those trapped inside couldn't open the door.
Binoy, who was returning home after work, was soon informed. Neighbours led the rescue efforts. As the house became unfit to live in, the belongings that weren’t destroyed were moved to another place. Nattakom Suresh, MLA, visited the house.
