Tripunithura: Two bike riders lost their lives in separate road accidents reported in the early hours of Tuesday.
The first accident occurred around 1.30am in front of an IOC petrol pump near Petta Junction. The victim, Ranith Suresh, 30, a resident of Girinagar, was riding a two-wheeler when he was allegedly knocked down by a speeding car and subsequently run over by a truck travelling in the same direction.
Maradu police registered a case against the truck driver for reckless driving causing death. The car involved in the incident is yet to be identified.
In another accident, a bike rider was knocked down by a speeding truck in front of KUFOS campus at Panangad. The deceased was Sebin Stephen, 32, of Palliparambil house, Konthuruthy. He was working as an accountant at MMTV and was on his way to the office in Aroor at the time of the accident.
