Twenty20 to field Akhil Marar, Babu Divakaran

Kochi: Twenty20, new alliance partner of National Democratic Alliance (NDA), announced its first set of candidates on Monday. Babu Divakaran, former Congress leader and ex-chairman of Adoor municipality, will contest from Twenty20's home turf Kunnathunad. He will contest under party's jackfruit symbol.Party president Sabu M Jacob on Monday announced the candidature of three more persons — social media influencer and film director Akhil Marar, Ravi Kulangara and Sunny Thomas.Kulangara, Kasaragod district coordinator of Twenty20, will contest from Thrikaripur. He was former Kasaragod district president and state general secretary of NCP Ajith Pawar faction.Thomas will seek mandate from Thiruvambady in Kozhikode. He oversaw the youth wing when Sharad Pawar formed NCP and was national secretary of NCP Ajit Pawar wing. Marar will contest from Thrikkakara constituency. Jacob said first phase of campaigning for Kunnathunad has begun and other candidates will be announced on Tuesday. tnn
