Tusker ‘Arikomban’ pulls down shed

Idukki: Stray wild elephant attacks in residential areas continues unabated in Santhanpara-Chinnakanal areas in Idukki. Wild tusker ‘Arikomban’ came to 301 Colony in Chinnakanal during the wee hours on Monday and pulled down a shed. Resident Yesodharan who was sleeping inside the shed had a miraculous escape. The tusker left after Yesodharan set fire to the dry grass in the area.Meanwhile, forest minister AK Saseendran will be holding a meeting on measures to contain wild elephant menace in the district with forest and district administration officials at the collectorate in Painavu on Tuesday.
