ALAPPUZHA
: A youth’s trip to his fiancee’s house with his father turned fatal for both the men on Sunday.
The men, Ajith Babu, 28, and K Babu, 61, of
Vadackal
, were killed in a chain accident at
Kalappura
on NH-66 near the town around 2pm.
The accident occurred when a
truck
driver applied brakes to avoid running over a cat. The two-wheeler on which the men were riding, crashed into the truck’s rear, and a minibus smashed into both the vehicles, police sub-inspector G Ajithkumar said.
Ajith died while being shifted to a hospital. His father died soon after reaching the hospital. Ajith was to get married in April. Ushakumari is Babu’s wife, and Arun Babu, his younger son.
