Temperatures in Kerala likely to rise 3-4C: IMD
Kochi: India meteorological department (IMD) said temperatures across Kerala are very likely to rise 3-4Celcius above normal on Saturday and Sunday.Maximum temperatures are very likely to be around 40C at isolated places in Palakkad, 39C in Kollam, 38C in Thrissur and Kottayam, 37C in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur, Kasaragod and Kozhikode and 36C in Thiruvananthapuram.Meanwhile, Palakkad reported a maximum of 39.7C on Friday and Kollam 38.6C. IMD had issued an orange alert of heat wave warning at isolated places in Palakkad and Thrissur on Friday. No heat wave warning has been issued for any places on Saturday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speed reaching up to 40-50kmph are very likely at one or two places on April 27 and 28.
