Kochi: State professional drama competition organised by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi will be held at K T Mohammed Theatre, Thrissur, from April 19 to 23. The competition will be inaugurated by akademi chairperson Mattannur Sankarankutty at 9:30am. Executive committee member John Fernandes will preside over the event. The competition will feature 10 plays in five days.
On the opening day at 10:30am, the play ‘Angadikuruvikal' by People's Theatres will be staged, followed by ‘Pakalil Maranjirunnoralu' by Valluvanad Brahma at 6pm. On April 20, ‘Vamsham' by Ajanta Theatre Group will be performed at 10:30am and ‘Ottamuriyile Pennu' by Ayanam Nataka Vedi will be staged at 6pm.
On April 21, ‘Sukumari' by Thiruvananthapuram Navodaya will be staged at 10:30am and ‘Janmam' by Chaithrathara Theatres at 6pm. On April 22, ‘Thazhvaram' by Souparnika Thiruvananthapuram will be performed at 10:30am, and ‘Siren' by Sadgamaya Thrissur at 6pm. On April 23, ‘Kaalam Parakkunnu' by Kozhikode Sankeerthana will be staged at 10:30am and ‘Navajathashishu Vayassu – 84' by Ambalappuzha Sarathy will be at 6pm.
Entry to the drama competition is free.
