Singer Yesudas' brother found dead in Kochi

KOCHI: Body of K J Justin, brother of singer K J Yesudas was found from backwaters near Vallarpadam container terminal station on Wednesday. The body was initially marked as unidentified but was later identified by brothers of Justin's wife late night on Wednesday, Mulavukad police said.
His kin had registered a missing person's complaint in Thrikkakkara police station on Wednesday.The relatives were intimated after the details of the body recovered by Mulavukad police matched with that of the description provided by Thrikkakara police.
The post-mortem report concluded that the death was due to drowning and police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
“As per the relatives, Justin and family had debts and the family was not in a position to repay them. He had been showing suicidal tendencies for the past week,” said a police officer with the Mulavukad police station.
According to residents, Justin and family were staying near St Antony's Church at Athani in Kakkanad for the past two years. "I only came to know that the deceased man is the brother of K J Yesudas after news reports came in. I had seen him several times but did not know him personally," said M T Omana, councillor of Athani ward in Thrikkakkara municipality.
