KOCHI: On Thursday, the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (AJFCMC) directed the police to shift 'Pulsar' Suni, the key accused in the actor rape case, to

Viyyur

central prison In Thrissur. The court issued the directive after Suni raised concerns about his safety inside

Kakkanad

district prison, where he is currently lodged.

In his petition, Suni sought a transfer to Aluva sub-jail, which would enable him to give a statement before the court without much problems. However the court transferred him to Viyyur prison instead.

The move comes at a time when his lawyer alleged the state government and the police were stopping Suni from disclosing the details of the conspiracy behind the case. Later, while exiting the court, Suni reiterated his earlier statement that a 'madam' was involved in the case and that more details would be disclosed after he was shifted to Viyyur prison. On Wednesday, the court had extended Suni's remand period till August 30.

Meanwhile, the special investigation team (SIT) collected the statement of actor Remya Nambeesan on Thursday. SIT spoke to her as the survivor was abducted and sexually assaulted while she was on her way to Remya's residence in Kochi.

Sources said that SIT was focussing on people who came to meet the survivor after the incident and allegedly tried to influence her and divert the investigation.
