"We hope to trace them soon," said Oachira SI, B Sabu.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the police are mounting pressure on the girl's family to leave Oachira. The girl and her family comprising father, mother and six siblings have been living in Oachira for past three years. The parents said that police did not take their earlier complaints seriously. Instead, the police asked them to dress the girl in a boy's attire to evade attention of miscreants.
Congress workers led by DCC president Bindu Krishna took out a march to the police station on Thursday. "We feel that there were lapses on the part of the police in tracing the girl. The police are trying to sabotage the case to save the kingpin who is the son of a local CPI leader," said Krishna.
