Police take statements of Kavya Madhavan’s parents

Kochi: The special investigation team conducting the further investigation into the actor assault case recorded the statements of Kavya Madhavan’s parents P Madhavan and Shyamala at the actor’s home in Aluva around 11am on Wednesday. Kavya’s husband, actor Dileep, is an accused in the case. Sources said that there were five officers in the team and the process lasted for around three hours.The team had recorded the statement of Dileep’s sister Sabitha at the Aluva Police Club on Monday. Her statement was recorded last month too.
HC seeks details of alleged change in hash value
Meanwhile, a high court bench of Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas on Wednesday asked crime branch to explain the significance of the alleged change in hash value of the memory card containing visuals in the actress assault case.
The court was considering a crime branch plea challenging the trial court’s order not to allow forensic examination of the card once again in view of the change in hash value.
The court said it needed a clear picture of how it could affect the case. It also asked prosecution whether it shouldn’t hear the accused in the case also to ensure fairness. The court also told a counsel representing actor Dileep to implead in the case if required. The court will hear the case again on Monday. tnn
