Police arrest two youths in job scam

Kochi: Ernakulam rural police arrested two youths for allegedly duping a person by promising a job abroad.
The arrested persons have been identified as Dhithya (20) and Dayanand (23), both from Cherthala. Njarackal police said that the accused have carried out similar scams earlier also by claiming that they have a licence to run a job consultancy to take people abroad.
According to the complainant, the accused had promised to arrange a job for her husband abroad and took Rs 2.80 lakh from them at multiple instances.
Two held for theft: Two men have been arrested in connection with a case involving the theft of over 10 sovereigns of gold from a house.
The arrested persons have been identified as Anzil (23) and Amarnath (19) from North Paravur. They were apprehended by Njarackal police. According to police, they carried out the burglary by breaking in through the back door of a house near the Lighthouse Colony at Puthuval Road.
