Narrow escape for family after car catches fire in Konni

Kottayam: A family had a narrow escape after their car caught fire in Konni in Pathanamthitta on Friday. The incident occurred in the morning while the family — two adults and three children — was travelling from Vayyattupuzha. The fire started after smoke was seen in the car. Fortunately, the passengers escaped unharmed as they noticed the smoke and got out in time. By the time the fire force from Konni arrived, the car was almost completely burned. The fire was later fully extinguished. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and the motor vehicles department will examine the vehicle, officials said.
