Man held with MDMA and ecstasy pills

Kochi: District anti-narcotic special action force (Dansaf) on Fridya seized synthetic drugs from a man in Vazhakkala, Thrikkakara.Kevin B Mathew (42) of Chembumukku was arrested, with around 183.55g of MDMA and 93.51g of ecstasy pills, police said. Kevin is accused of supplying drugs to the accused in a narcotics case caught by Kadavanthra police in March. Police recovered Rs 1 lakh, allegedly earned through drug trafficking, from the accused. Two held for assaulting cops: Ernakulam rural police on Friday arrested two youths for allegedly assaulting police officers. The arrested persons have been identified as Rahul Krishna of Kaitharam and Ashwin Krishna of Thrissur. They were apprehended by Paravur police. The incident occurred around 1am on Wednesday. A complaint was received at the police station about fireworks being set off in a manner that obstructed travellers and vehicles on NH 66 at Kottuvally. When police arrived at the scene to investigate, the accused obstructed them and assaulted the officers, causing injuries, police said. TNN
