Man held for multi-crore financial fraud

Kochi: Palarivattom police arrested a man for alleged links to a group involved in multiple financial frauds.According to police, accused Jenny Varghese, 51, a native of Puthencruz, was arrested in connection with cases relating to alleged embezzlement of over Rs 120 crore from multiple branches of a nationalised bank. He was arrested in a case registered by officials of a Chennai-based finance company from which Rs 5.12 crore was fraudulently obtained by pledging forged land and property documents. Police said that three others were also booked in connection with the case.
