Man collapses while working inside well in Idukki, dies

Idukki: A 53-year-old man died after collapsing while working inside a well at Kunjithanni near Idukki on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Benny (53), a resident of Mangappara Nagar in Chenkulam, Anachal. The incident occurred while Benny had entered the well to place concrete rings as part of its construction at a private resort in Chenkulam. According to reports, he collapsed at the bottom of the well due to suffocation. Residents, along with Vellathooval police and Adimali fire and rescue services, rushed to the spot and brought him out of the well. He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Adimali, but doctors confirmed his death. He is survived by his wife Sindhu and son Appu.
