Man booked for harassing schoolgirl in Thodupuzha

Thodupuzha: A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a schoolgirl at the private bus stand in Thodupuzha on Monday evening.The accused, Jaseer Jabbar, a native of Elamdesam in Thodupuzha, reportedly approached the minor while she was waiting for a bus at the bus stand and spoke to her in an inappropriate manner. The girl, a resident of Kolani, immediately pushed back, drawing the attention of other passengers who intervened.On being informed, the girl's father and a relative rushed to the spot. They allegedly assaulted the accused before handing him over to the police.Police said the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was later produced before a court. A case has been registered against him under the provisions of Pocso Act.tnn
