Man booked for blocking fire brigade vehicle in Alappuzha

Kottayam: Police filed a case against a car owner who obstructed the path of a fire and rescue unit that was rushing to Thuravoor taluk hospital in Alappuzha where a fire had broken out. Pattanakkad police registered a case against Sujith, a native of Kodamthuruth in Kuthiathode. The vehicle has also been seized. The complaint by the Alappuzha fire and rescue SHO states that the individual drove the vehicle in a dangerous manner. A case has also been filed under the Motor Vehicles Act.The fire at Thuravoor taluk hospital occurred on Tuesday morning. The fire broke out in the storage area where the hospital's medicines were kept.The fire services unit travelling from Alappuzha to Thuravoor was obstructed around 10.25am on the national highway near Ponnamveli. The video of the car not giving way to the fire services vehicle was widely circulated on social media.
