Main middleman in Kochi's online sex scam surrenders

KOCHI: Joshi Joseph alias Achayan, a middleman in the recently busted online sex racket involving Rahul Pasupalan and his wife and model Reshmi Nair, surrendered before the investigating team here on Monday.
A native of Cherthala, Joshi is also an accused in two other sensational cases, namely Paravoor and Varapuzha sex scandals.
A senior police officer said that Joshi on Sunday informed his readiness to surrender before Kochi city police.However, the city police asked him to surrender before the investigating team controlled directly by IG (crimes) S Sreejith, who is also heading the anti-human traffic wing of the state police.
The officer confirmed that Joshi’s arrest was not recorded in any of the police stations in Kochi.
Joshi had managed to escape Tuesday's raids pan five districts, during which 12 people including Pasupalan and his wife were arrested.
According to police, Joshi continued to work with flesh trading syndicates in the state even after arraigned in Paravoor and Varapuzha sex scandals.
Joshi will be facing trial in the 12th case in Paravoor sex scam dating back to 2010, when a minor girl was forced to flesh trade with the consent of their parents.
