Late Congress leader KCM Mather’s grandson dies

KOCHI: Businessman and grandson of late Congress leader KCM Mather, Noushad Noorudheen (38) died after falling from the sixth floor of an apartment complex near Goshree Bridge on Monday afternoon.
Central police have registered a case of unnatural death. Noushad, son of Noorudheen Mather, was residing at the sixth floor of the apartment, police said.Police said that the exact cause of death can only be confirmed after an investigation but they suspect it to be a case of suicide.
“As per preliminary investigation, Noushad appeared depressed recently and he must have taken the extreme step. He and his wife were staying at the apartment. We would investigate to confirm the reason for death,” said an officer.
The incident happened at around 3.30pm when he fell to death from the balcony of his apartment. Security staff and others who were on the premises rushed him to Ernakulam General Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police said that Noushad was into various businesses in Kochi. The body will be handed over to relatives after an autopsy on Tuesday.
