Kochi: Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos) has announced launch of a new five-year integrated programme in climate science & data analytics in collaboration with interdisciplinary centre for climate studies.
The newly introduced Kufos-ICCS five-year integrated programme is designed as a future-focused course that combines core climate science with advanced data analytics, aiming to prepare students for emerging roles in climate research, environmental forecasting and data-driven policy making.
"With climate change increasingly impacting ecosystems and economies, the programme seeks to build interdisciplinary expertise among students to address real-world environmental challenges," said a university official.
The course is open to students with a higher secondary science background (physics or mathematics) and a minimum of 55% marks. Admissions will be based on Kufos entrance examination. Intake for this academic year is limited to 25 seats.
Incidentally, the university has extended the last date for submission of applications for its undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes to May 19.
Kufos offers a wide range of courses across its faculties, including fisheries science, ocean science and technology, fisheries management and fisheries engineering. Postgraduate options include multiple specialisations in MFSc and MSc programmes, along with LLM, MBA, MTech and PhD courses. The university has also earmarked two seats in all postgraduate programmes for NRI candidates.
