Kochi corporation mayor urges quick resolution of drinking water issues

Kochi: Mayor V K Minimol urged officials to quickly resolve drinking water issues faced by people within corporation limits. She was speaking at district development committee meeting held at collectorate planning hall, chaired by district collector G Priyanka on Saturday.Other local body authorities also raised drinking water issues in their limits. Solutions are needed for acute drinking water shortage faced by Pallippuram and Njarakkal panchayats, the meeting noted.A meeting should be convened under the leadership of joint director regarding renovation works of Kizhakkambalam panchayat bus stand, which began in 2020-21. Efforts should be made to promptly complete tender process for installing a pump set in Aikyasamajam paddy field in Kuzhuppilly panchayat.Collector instructed officials to complete land acquisition for construction of Convent Beach Bridge, Herbert Bridge and Cheriya Kadamakudi Bridge, and commence construction. Kothamangalam MLA Antony John emphasised urgent need for timely completion of projects announced to counter human-wildlife conflicts faced by various panchayats in Kothamangalam constituency.Additional district magistrate Vinod Raj, district planning officer G Ullas and other officials participated in the meeting.
