Radhakrishnan and those who had handed over the ivory stock to the actor will also face the quick verification. Thiruvanchoor had allegedly issued an order, permitting the actor to possess ivory. The quick verification was ordered on a petition filed by AA Paulose of Eloor. Vigilance team has been directed to submit the quick verification report before court before November 22.

The actor’s ivory possession came to light in an Income Tax raid at his house at Thevara, Kochi, in 2010. Following this, the

Forest Department

submitted an FIR against Mohanlal and two others before the Judicial First Class Magistrate court, Perumbavoor, 2012. The actor was named as first accused while PN Krishnakumar of Thrissur and N Krishnakumar of Tripunithura were listed as second and third accused in the case. The second and third accused, who owned permit to possess ivory, had submitted that the ivory stock was given to the actor for safe custody when they went abroad. The petitioner had alleged that the actor was permitted to continue possession of ivory through corrupt measures. It was alleged that there were 13 pairs of ivory seized from the actor’s house and the Forest Department had failed to submit proper details of the seized articles before court.
