It’s CPM vs Sudhakaran in Ambalapuzha

Kottayam: CPM has taken Ambalapuzha assembly contest as a matter of pride and has decided to go all out for a win. Party leadership has passed the message to regional leaders following a district secretariat meeting held in the presence of state secretary M V Govindan at Alappuzha district committee office on Saturday.Leaders in the meeting opined that losing in Ambalapuzha would be a significant setback for party even if LDF retains power. Party has been instructed to use all its resources to defeat G Sudhakaran. Activities will be intensified from grassroots level. Along with campaigning to secure votes for LDF candidate H Salam, cadre votes must be fully secured. Previously, one person was in charge for six booths, but this will be reorganised to two booths.Although Sudhakaran leaving party has not affected organisational setup, it should not reflect in the elections, opined the leaders. There should be a significant increase in votes compared to the previous assembly and local elections, and votes swaying among party members and families should be turned in favour of LDF candidates. During house visits, party's stance on G Sudhakaran issue should be made clear.Additionally, a strong response should be given to remarks made by Sudhakaran against district and state party leaders and chief minister. Truth behind the allegations regarding vandalising of Krishna Pillai memorial will be explained by leaders in election public meetings and conferences.Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be taking part in a meeting in Ambalapuzha on Wednesday. Sharp criticism of Sudhakaran is expected in the meeting. Care should be taken to ensure the Sudhakaran effect does not impact nearby constituencies, leaders said.CPM central committee member C S Sujatha, state secretariat member Saji Cherian and district secretary R Nazar, among other leaders, participated.
