IT professional dies by suicide over work pressure in Kerala

KOTTAYAM: A 23-year-old IT professional died by suicide after jumping off his apartment in Kanjikuzhi, Kottayam, reportedly due to extreme work pressure. The tragic incident took place on on Sunday morning.The deceased, Jacob Thomas, a native of Punnavely in Mallappally in Pathanamthitta, was employed as a computer engineer at an IT firm at Kakkanad in Ernakulam. Before taking the extreme step, he reportedly sent a video message to his mother, expressing his distress over the overwhelming workload. In the video, he mentioned that he could no longer bear the pressure. His family members said Jacob had been struggling with intense work-related stress, which had severely affected his sleep and well-being. They have filed a complaint with the police, urging an investigation into the circumstances that led to his death.
