Kochi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several districts in Kerala till May 6 and issued a yellow alert. Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and idukki districts are likely to receive heavy rain at isolated places on Sunday.
Idukki will continue to receive heavy rain on Monday, along with Palakkad. Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Wayanad are expected to see similar conditions on Tuesday, while Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Wayanad are on alert for Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are also likely to continue till Wednesday.
Palakkad recorded the highest temperature in the state at 38.3°C, followed by Punalur at 38°C on Saturday. With wind speeds expected to reach 40–50 kmph, authorities have advised caution. Several parts of the state received rainfall on Saturday.
