HC asks prosecution to give evidence

Kochi: On Monday, the high court asked the prosecution to submit details of evidence linking actor-director Nadirsha M S in the actor rape case.
Considering an anticipatory bail plea filed by Nadirsha, the court directed the prosecution to submit details as a report in a sealed cover within a week. The court has asked prosecution to include details regarding the petitioner’s role in the case, possibility of him becoming an accused or witness, whether there is a need for questioning him anymore and if further probe is required. Further hearing has been scheduled by the court on September 25.
While considering the pre-arrest bail, the court had asked Nadirsha to appear before the investigating team for questioning. This was after prosecution informed the court that he was not named as an accused at present. After a failed attempt to quiz him, due to health issues, he was questioned on Sunday. While informing the court about these developments, prosecution has also contended that the petitioner did not fully cooperate with the questioning, especially on questions regarding his role in the alleged crime. tnn
