Kochi: Justice S Siri Jagan, a former Judge of the Kerala High Court, passed away in Kochi on Saturday.
Justice Siri Jagan, a native of Mayyanad in Kollam district, was born in 1952. He graduated with an LLB from Govt Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, and completed his postgraduate studies (LLM) at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat). He was elevated as a judge of the Kerala High Court in 2005 and he retired in 2014.
After his retirement, Justice Siri Jagan was appointed as the chairman of the Sabarimala high-power committee by the HC to monitor developments at Sabarimala temple.
Justice Siri Jagan has also chaired a three-member committee constituted by the Supreme Court in 2016 to address the growing number of stray dog attacks in Kerala and to determine compensation for victims.
He has also served as the acting vice-chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (Nuals), Kochi.
He leaves behind wife Dr M Jayalakshmi (retd doctor, ESI Hospital), daughters Prof Jesny Uday (SN College, Cherthala) and Dr Roshni Vishnu and sons-in-law Uday Ananthan (film director) and Dr A K Vishnu (Radiologist, Lisie Hospital, Ernakulam).
The funeral will be held at Ravipuram crematorium at 4pm on Sunday.
