Excise seizes 110g MDMA from Cheranelloor

Kochi: Excise officers seized over 110g of MDMA from Cheranelloor on Friday morning.

According to excise sleuths, based on confidential information, a raid was held at a studio apartment on the first floor of an apartment complex. Officers seized 110.73 g of MDMA, more than Rs 1 lakh in cash and a car used to transport the contraband.

Three persons were arrested in connection with the seizure. The arrested persons are Larry John Thattil, 36, of Ollur and Ivin P Vincent, 26, of Mukundapuram in Thrissur and Nikhil Peter, 31, of Kadamakudy. A fourth accused Muhammed Niyas escaped from the apartment, sources said.

The raid was held by a team led by excise inspector Abhiraj R. Officers Raseena V B, Amaldev, Padmagireeshan, Ashkar Sabu and Vishnu Kumar were part of the investigation team.
