Kochi: Taking revenge for his father's murder, a 57-year-old man shot his neighbour to death in Kalady on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Kilukkan Jose, 50, of Manjapra. Soon after the incident, the accused, Kalaparambil Pauly, who is a retired BSF constable, surrendered at the Ayyampuzha police station.
The incident happened in Manjpara on the border of Kalady and Ayyampuzha police stations. Ayyampuzha police registered a case and said that the case will be handed over to Kalady police.
Kalady police said Pauly was a staffer of a security agency which used to transfer money to banks and he had secured a gun license.
He used his gun to shoot Jose, who was taking a bath in a canal in Manjapra.
Pauly's father Kalaparambil Jose was killed by Kilukkan Jose following a dispute seven years ago. Jose struck Pauly's father on his head with a wooden log, resulting in his death. A lower court had acquitted Jose in the case recently for want of evidence. After this, Pauly and Jose had engaged in arguments several times.
