Ensure social justice: Mysore varsity dean

KOCHI: Reservatio n based on economic criteria is a good idea, but many times even the weakest section don't get the benefit of it and the richest gets the benefit, said C Basavaraju, dean of faculty of Law, Mysore University, at a national workshop on 'Reservation Policy in India in the light of the changing parameters' at NUALS, Kalamassery. Social justice must be ensured, he said.
It was inaugurated by NUALS vice-chancellor K C Sunny. NUALS faculty members, SC lawyer Sriram Parakat, writer Sunny M Kapikkad, Palakkad district panchayath president K Shanthakumari, district and sessions judge K Biju Menon, took part.
