Lakshadweep former MP Mohammed Faizal PP’s brother sacked from job

KOCHI: Brother of now disqualified Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal PP, who was sentenced along with him to 10-year imprisonment in an attempted murder case, was dismissed from his job as a teacher by the Lakshadweep administration.

The administration dismissed Sayed Mohammed Noorul Ameen of Andrott Island. As per the dismissal order, Ameen, a trained graduate teacher (English) at MGSS School Andrott, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with effect from Jan 11, 2023, and pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh, as per the order of the Kavaratti district and sessions court, which found him guilty of various offences.

The order added that the Lakshadweep administrator considered the case circumstances and was of the firm conclusion that Ameen was liable to be dismissed from service.

The issue pertains to the case registered at Andrott police station for assaulting and attempting to murder Congress worker Mohammed Salih in 2009.
