KOCHI: The conspiracy angle has resurfaced in the abduction and rape case of a well-known Malayalam actress in February, with the prime accused in the case ‘Pulsar’ Suni, currently in jail, purportedly demanding money from a top actor in return for remaining silent on his alleged role in the crime.
On Saturday, actors Dileep and Nadirsha revealed that a fellow prisoner of Suni, a man called Vishnu, had telephonically contacted Nadirsha and Appunni, a close aide of Dileep, to demand Rs.1.5 crore in return for not dragging Dileep’s name into the case.

A letter also surfaced on Saturday, supposedly written by the main accused, addressing Dileep as ‘Dileepetta’. The two-page letter, written on Kakkanad sub-jail stationery, is dated April 12 and contains a demand for money that was ‘promised’.
Dileep and Nadirsha revealed that they had filed a complaint in April on this extortion bid. The DGP’s office has confirmed receipt of the complaint. Police are verifying the audio recordings and the letter. Incidentally, Dileep and Nadirsha’s revelations come four days after police sought and obtained permission from a city court to record under Section 164 of CrPC the statement of one Jinson, another fellow prisoner of Suni, to whom the latter reportedly revealed more details on what actually transpired.
