KOTTAYAM: A CPM campaign will seek to bombard PM Narendra Modi with letters asking him to take steps to secure the release of Father Tom Uzhunnalil who was kidnapped in Yemen.
CPM members in Kottayam district will post 50,000 letters to Modi. CPM district secretary V N Vasavan said the campaign will begin at the district head post office in Kottayam at 10am on January 2 and that letters will be posted from all the 404 post offices in the district.

A protest meeting will be held at the Old Police Station Ground in the evening which will be inaugurated by LDF Convener Vaikom Vishwan.
Father Tom, a native of Ramapuram in Kottayam, was abducted in March this year by unknown terrorists from an old-age home run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charty in Yemen.
