Church raises concern over Oottu Thirunal on March 19
Kochi: Kerala Latin Catholic Association has written to both state central govt raising concerns over the LPG crisis, stating that the shortage will affect the famous Oottu Thirunal, the massive community meal held on St Joseph's feast day on March 19 in churches across the state.KLCA, in its letter, stated the general public was facing severe difficulties, as many hotels reduced operations due to the acute shortage of cooking gas. The association said that Christian churches in Kerala usually conducted Oottu Thirunal on March 19 in connection with the feast of St Joseph, and cooking gas shortage posed a challenge to the event.KLCA officials' meeting, presided over by association state president Sherry J Thomas, demanded that govt take necessary steps to address the cooking gas shortage urgently. State general secretary Biju Josy Karumanchery, treasurer Ratheesh Antony, vice-presidents Aby Kunneparambil, Alex Thaloopadath, Naiju Arakkal, Pailey Alungal, Patrick Michael, CJ Paul, and secretaries Usha Lazar, Christopher S, Conclin Jimmy John, Jayan Kunnel, John Babu and Sheeba Mathew spoke at the meeting.
