'Centre to bear expenses of bringing mortal remains', says V Muraleedharan

KOTTAYAM: Union minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan has said that the Centre would bear all the expenses related to the repatriation of the mortal remains of Anju Asok and her two children who were murdered by her husband Saju Chelavalel in the UK.
Speaking to reporters after visiting Anju's father Ashokan at his home in Kulasekharamangalam, Vaikom, on Thursday, Muraleedharan said that the Indian High Commission is closely watching the developments.
The central government has made all the arrangements to repatriate the bodies to the native once the mortal remains are handed over, he said.
Chelavalel was charged with the murder of his wife Anju Asok (35) and their two children Jeeva Saju (6) and Janvi Saju (4). All three died on December 15. Forensic postmortem examinations concluded that they died as a result of asphyxiation.
