Bomb threat email triggers search operations at Alappuzha chief judicial magistrate court
Kottayam: Bomb threat email triggered search operations at Alappuzha chief judicial magistrate court on Monday.A joint search by the bomb squad and police found nothing unusual. The fake bomb threat was sent to the official email at 5.45pm on Sunday. The email, written in Malayalam, mentioned Tamil Nadu govt, DMK and chief minister Stalin. It also stated that a cyanide gas bomb would explode in the court on Monday and that 12 RDX explosives would go off at Mullaperiyar Dam.

The court staff learned about the bomb threat when they checked email the next morning. Subsequently, Alappuzha north police were informed. Before court proceedings began, police arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough inspection of the judge's chamber and room. They also checked vehicles parked in the vicinity using metal detectors but found nothing unusual. An investigation was launched to trace the source of the email.
