B Rakesh is new producers’ body president

Kochi: Producer B Rakesh was elected as the president of Kerala Film Producers' Association (KFPA), while Listin Stephen was elected as the general secretary. The announcement was made after the general body meeting of the association held in Kochi on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sophia Paul and Sandeep Senan were elected as the vice-presidents of the association and Alwin Antony and M M Hamsa were elected as joint secretaries. Maha Subair will serve as the treasurer. Rakesh and Saji Nanthiyattu were in the race for the post of president. Apart from Listin Stephen, Vinayan and Kalliyoor Sasi were the candidates for the post of general secretary. Earlier, the electoral officer rejected the nomination of producer Sandra Thomas for the post of president. Though Sandra approached court against the decision, the Ernakulam sub-court dismissed her plea on Wednesday. tnn
