: 'Cartist-Yatra', a

travelling exhibition of painted cars

, auto rickshaws and two-wheelers will be reaching the city on Friday.

The yatra which began in Jaipur on November 4, 2017, passed through major art and cultural hubs including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru before reaching Kochi.

After the show in Kochi, it will travel to Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh before it reaches New Delhi in the first week of February. The mobile expo will then travel back to Jaipur to be part of Cartist Automobile Arts Festival. The exhibits are being transported in shipping containers.

In Kochi the Cartist team comprising 15 artists will have their pit-stop at the Durbar Hall Ground.

The exhibits will be in the city till December 18.

"The artworks will be curated and exhibited outside the container trucks. Three of the containers are vibrantly painted from outside by artist Yantr from Assam, Akhlaq Ahmed from Delhi and the artists from the unsung heroes series. The selected days of activities are weekends, so as to engage public in this initiative. During halts in respective cities, Cartists, the organizing community, will facilitate the engagement of local artists, art fraternity, youth and the general public to familiarize them about the concept of moving artworks," Jangid said.

Along with this, the team will organize art camps and workshops on various genres with the involvement of artists.
