Kerala: Thrissur ASI missing since Tuesday

civil police officer

Thrissur

city traffic police wing has been

missing

since Tuesday evening. The city police sources identified him as M R Rajan, 49. He belonged to the

Ullada

tribal community and was residing at Valakkavu area with his wife and two children, according to the tribal community leaders.

He has been working as a driver and has just been promoted as

ASI

and posted to Ollur police station. Rajan was to join Ollur police station in the next couple of days.

Thrissur East police SHO Lalkumar said intense efforts were on to locate Rajan, and teams have been sent to some locations like Coimbatore in neighbouring states, following inputs that he used to visit an ashram there.

His friends in the department said there are reports that he was reluctant to join Ollur police station and was looking for a transfer due to personal reasons.
