Amid summer scorcher, fish found dead in Palakkad river

Palakkad: Amid intense summer heat in the district, fish were found dead in large numbers in Mangalam River at Kannambra panchayat in Palakkad. Residents said the dead fish have been seen floating in the river since Monday. The water level in the river had dropped significantly as the summer heat intensified. It is suspected that the rise in water temperature may have led to the deaths of the fish. However, concerns have also been raised about the possibility of water contamination. Following information from residents, health department officials have begun an inspection to determine the cause of the incident.
