Aluva municipality to renovate town hall at Rs 7 crore
Kochi: Aluva municipality has decided to renovate its town hall, citing poor condition and lack of modern amenities. According to officials, the project would be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore using the local body's own funds.Municipality chairman Saiji Jolly said the existing facility was in a dilapidated state, resulting in fewer events being hosted at the venue. "We intend to complete the detailed project report process soon and begin renovation at the earliest," he said. Jolly added that funds are likely to be raised through loans, as discussions for arranging CSR funds did not yield the results. Once renovated, the municipality plans to increase the hall's rental fee to Rs 1.25 lakh per event.
