10 from TN hurt in bus accident in Idukki

Idukki: Around 10 tourists from Tamil Nadu were injured after their bus met with an accident at Vattakannipara near Kuthungal in Idukki on Monday night. The bus, carrying a 22-member group from Thanjavur, reportedly lost control around 11pm at a sharp curve at Vattakannipara and crashed into a crash barrier. A major tragedy was averted as the vehicle came to a halt after hitting a nearby tree. Residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a private hospital in Rajakkad. Those seriously injured, including driver Anand (36) and passengers Amina Beevi (60) and Parveen Banu (48), were later shifted to Theni medical college hospital in Tamil Nadu for advanced treatment. Passengers seated in the front sustained injuries after shards from the shattered windshield struck them.
