Toddler’s death:Police hunt onfor pickup driver

Kanpur: A pickup driver's carelessness led to the death of three-year-old Abhinav in the Bahadur Kheda locality of Domanpur under the Maharajpur police station here on Wednesday morning.On Thursday, Dhirendra, Abhinav's father, alleged that the police deliberately omitted driver Arun Kumar's name from the report and registered it as an unidentified case.Maharajpur station officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey clarified that the initial report listed an unknown driver and the case was registered accordingly. He explained that after receiving Arun's details from the family the previous evening, they included his name in the case file and initiated efforts to apprehend him. Once the family received this explanation, they were pacified.The family then proceeded with the burial at Domanpur Ganga Ghat with police personnel present at the site.
