On Friday afternoon, when information about the student's kidnapping attempt reached the control room, police became alert. Senior officers immediately sent Assistant Commissioner of Police Kalyanpur and local police to the spot.
The student told the police, while crying, that four youths in a car attempted to kidnap her, but they fled when people arrived.
Police immediately inspected the incident site and examined CCTV cameras installed nearby.
The investigation revealed that the story told by the student did not match the circumstances at the incident site and the CCTV footage.
Police then took the student into confidence and questioned her calmly.
During questioning, she admitted that she had gone to the Vaishno temple located in Naramau, Bithoor instead of going to school.
She returned late from there, and due to fear of being scolded by family members, she gave false information about kidnapping.
After the matter came to light, family members also expressed regret over the incident. On this matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) SM Qasim Abidi said that the kidnapping information given by the student was found to be completely false.
"The student left home for school but went to the temple instead of going to school. Due to fear of being scolded by family members, she made up a false story. Currently, no complaint was filed by the family members," the Deputy Commissioner of Police further said.
