Scholar Mission School wins badminton championship

Kanpur: Scholar Mission School won the double title in Cosco JMD Kanpur District Inter-School Badminton championship which concluded at JMD World School here on Saturday.
Scholar Mission in the boys’ group team event outplayed DPS Kalyanpur by 2-0 in the final. Its boys won singles as well as double events. Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir defeated Sughar Singh Academy by 2-0 and grabbed the third place.

Thereafter Mission School girls’ team humbled GD Goenka School team by identical margin (2-0) in the final.DPS Kalyanpur stood at the third place.
Tanush Reddy defeated defending champion Shreyas Jha in the final by 30-18 and won the boys u-19 title. Arush Dua & Anjaney Malhotra jointly stood at the third place. In the girls’ group, Anika Sharma drubbed Aparna Dwivedi by 30-22 in the final and won the crown. Ishita Tiwari & Urvi Somani jointly stood at the third place.
Riyana Jain won the under-11 girls title defeating Paridhi Yadav by 21-14, 14-21, 21-17 in the final. Utpreksha Srivastava got the third place. Shardul Khatri beat Kandarp Khatri by 21-11, 18-21, 21-12 and won the u-1 boys’ title. Tanush Reddy and Sambhav Maheshwari jointly stood at the third place. After the event, chief guest Sanjeev Dixit, chairman of the host JMD World School and Manoj Pandey chairman, KDBA, gave away prizes to the winners.
