Kanpur: Opener Faiz Ahmad's splendid 67 runs helped Kanpur Prime Indians secure victory, defeating RLL Ganga Bithoor by 5 wickets in the Kanpur Premier League match conducted under floodlights on Friday evening.
Ganga Bithoor, despite a dismal start, managed to post a total of 165 runs. They lost their top three batsmen for merely six runs in 3.2 overs. However, opener Shubham Chaudhary and Aman Yadav stabilised the innings whilst crafting a substantial 79-run partnership for fourth wicket. Shubham contributed 62 runs off 47 deliveries, including 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. Aman added 35 runs. Prashant Awasthi (41) and Aman Bhadoria (18 not out) subsequently forged another valuable partnership of 46 runs. For Prime Indians, Arpit Shukla and Kritagya Kr Singh claimed 2 wickets apiece.Pursuing the target, Kanpur Prime Indians achieved it with five wickets in hand. Faiz Ahmad top-scored with 67 runs, striking 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. Satyam Dixit and Mohd Basit remained unbeaten on 24 and 20 runs respectively.
