Olympic Club beat Ashoka Jyoti Club by 9 wickets in final, win tournament

Kanpur: Puneet Pal’s unbeaten knock of 83 runs and 4 wickets helped Olympic Club beat Ashoka Jyoti Club by 9 wickets in the final and won the first Harendra Pal Anand cricket tournament which concluded at RPCA ground here on Monday.

Ashoka Jyoti batting first, posted a total of 131 runs in 32 overs with the help of Raghav Awasthi’s innings of 84 runs. Olympic Club in reply scored required 134 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 21 overs.

After the final, chief guest Ayush Shukla and Vishesh Anand presented trophies to the winner and runner up teams. Raghav Awasthi and Abhijeet Singh were adjudged as best batsman and bowler of the tournament. Abhijeet Singh was also declared as player of the tournament.
