Kanpur: District magistrate Kanpur Nagar Jitendra Pratap Singh on Wednesday
visited polyhouse agriculture farm and stressed the need to develop more
such successful agri-models to promote modern farming practices among
cultivators.
During the visit, the District Magistrate inspected a polyhouse established
by farmer-entrepreneur Viraj Bhatia in Kalyanpur region.
Spread across nearly 10,000 square metres, the project has emerged as a
notable example of modern protected cultivation techniques in the district.

cost of around Rs 1.12 crore. Financial assistance of approximately Rs
55.95 lakh was provided under the scheme of the National Horticulture Board.
He directed the Agriculture and
Horticulture Departments to share the experiences of such innovative
farmers with other growers so that a greater number of farmers could avail
themselves of the schemes and increase their income.
Deputy Director of Agriculture RS Verma stated that six polyhouses were
currently operational in the district under the Mission for Integrated
Development of Horticulture.
